Blogging Again

Lorraine has inspired me to start blogging again after a lame attempt back in 05. My "theme" is local issues here in SummitCounty, a strange little pocket of the world. For inspiration, I will turn to the Summit Daily News which I find to be a pretty decent reflection of life here in the tundra. Here, where the air is thin, a dog in need of ACL surgery is much more relevant than all that nonsense going down on the Gaza Strip or Capitol Hill, and affordable housing starts at around half a million dollars. I am sick today and have not read the paper so I will just comment on my life inside my house. We are remodeling the kitchen and my house is a huge mess. Matt enjoys listening to "Outlaw Country" on Sirius while he works. I surprise myself at how many songs I actually know (I mean I have the lyrics down) that involves truckers!! That would be my Oklahoma roots making a show. They pop out on occassion. If you know the words to "Give me 40 acres and I' ll turn this rig around" you know what I mean. It is funny because I have no memory of a song, then it will come on and boom I am singing right along!

Well, when you start singing "I am a truck'n man driving a common van and my dog ain't got no pedigree" then we will really worry about you and Matt both!
Glad I can be an inspiration to someone...having trouble being much of an inspiration to myself though! :) Lo
