Well I thought I would try my hand at this again since I had so much fun with my kitchen blog. I want to learn how to do this right though-- and I hope to improve.

So a quick recap of events this last month. (It is almost June and it is downright cold around here). Anyway here is what has been happening: Matt and I built a firepit, we were visited by a bear,we attended one graduation and two graduation parties, we watched the Nuggets in the playoffs, we hosted two big parties, we rearranged the living room, we finished up the kitchen remodel, we (ok matt) tiled the bathroom, we watched the rest of the American Idol season 8, we switched from Dish to Comcast (dumb move), we have gone on countless hikes, we have poached various hot tubs (if you live in Summit you are familiar with that), and we have planted 6 trees. Of course we did other other stuff, but those are the highlights that stick out in my mind.

Things I want to do this summer: get my fishing license and catch a bunch a fish, ride the tandem down Vail Pass, climb a 14er (Whaaat?), collect more moss for my pond, go camping, go to the Royal Gorge and Mesa Verde (i say that every year but have not been to either in like 25 plus years), go to Dallas and McAlester (that is for sure), go to Cozumel (that is I hope), play some golf, paint my bedroom, find a cool mirror for my bathroom, find a better shoe organization system, host a summer party to thank those who helped with the kitchen (and for anyone else that wants to come), get a cute shorter haircut and generally not stress out. Ohhhh and watch the Nuggets go all the way!!!

My daily thought on the law: What is up with the returning security at the Dam Road? Where did all the guards go in the Winter? I thought we were in danger of an imminent terrorist attack? Guess the terrorist like to go some place warm during the long winter. Here is a little excerpt from thethe Summit Daily News: The automated protective barriers sitting dormant on Dillon Dam Road since December could become active again in the next couple of weeks, said Denver Water spokeswoman Stacy Chesney. Law-enforcement officers stopped guarding either end of Dillon Dam last fall, and Denver Water security has been the primary daytime defense against a potential attack on the 231-foot-high earthen structure holding Dillon Reservoir’s 83 billion gallons of water. WTF??????
